Reconstructing Mercury's magnetic field in magnetosphere using radial basis functions

Based on the Magnetometer observations of MErcury Surface, Space ENvironment, GEochemistry, and Ranging (MESSENGER) spacecraft in orbit around Mercury, we construct a global magnetic field model Mercury's magnetosphere using radial basis functions (RBFs). This is parameterized by disturbance level fields are sum internal external sources magnetosphere, including magnetopause magnetospheric currents. The RBF-based does not impose preconceived assumptions constructs system tail currents field-aligned (FACs) simultaneously. Compared with previous models, residuals between observed modeled significantly reduced at different activity levels this indicates that our reliable robust.
